I have over 20 years’ experience in the catering industry, working my way up from porter all the way to head chef. The majority of my career has been working in pubs which have enjoyed very large gardens with barbeque outbuildings. My time spent in these establishments has allowed me to hone my pulled pork and slow cooked meat skills.
Great Big Pig is a family run business – this means with GBP you get a friendly, personal service, from your initial enquiry to the event day and beyond – with help and advice on how to use left overs, we are only an email or call away.
WHAT WE DO
Everything, from the meat we choose to the fruit and veg we use in our homemade stuffing, cider apple sauce and the large selection of salads, vegetables and potatoes we offer, are all fresh locally-sourced produce from green grocers, butchers and suppliers I’ve used over my many years in the trade, so you can rest assured that only the best quality ingredients make their way to your event. Vegetarian options and gluten free bread can be made available on request and full details of any allergens in dishes is also available in accordance with allergens awareness guidelines.
We will arrive at the venue well in advance of your designated service time to take care of our set up and once all your guests have nice full tummies we aim to be tidied away and off site as promptly as possible to allow you your space back.
Our service includes the use of roaster and a fully set up service area, at least one chef to prepare and serve food, disposable plates and cutlery, napkins and a selection of condiments. We work with local suppliers to be able to provide you with Crockery and cutlery for your event.
