At Great Big Pig we believe the fun and theatre of a hog roast catered event should be for everyone to enjoy.

With the Platinum hog roaster we are able to cook 2 large pigs and more, so we can cater for large gatherings of over 200-300 like weekend festivals, corporate events, weddings, village fetes/fairs and even sports events. However we can also provide our services for as few as 30 people, making us perfect for smaller, more intimate events such as birthday or anniversary parties, house warming’s or any other family gathering. ABOUT ME


I have over 20 years’ experience in the catering industry, working my way up from porter all the way to head chef. The majority of my career has been working in pubs which have enjoyed very large gardens with barbeque outbuildings. My time spent in these establishments has allowed me to hone my pulled pork and slow cooked meat skills.

Great Big Pig is a family run business – this means with GBP you get a friendly, personal service, from your initial enquiry to the event day and beyond – with help and advice on how to use left overs, we are only an email or call away.

WHAT WE DO


Everything, from the meat we choose to the fruit and veg we use in our homemade stuffing, cider apple sauce and the large selection of salads, vegetables and potatoes we offer, are all fresh locally-sourced produce from green grocers, butchers and suppliers I’ve used over my many years in the trade, so you can rest assured that only the best quality ingredients make their way to your event. Vegetarian options and gluten free bread can be made available on request and full details of any allergens in dishes is also available in accordance with allergens awareness guidelines.

We will arrive at the venue well in advance of your designated service time to take care of our set up and once all your guests have nice full tummies we aim to be tidied away and off site as promptly as possible to allow you your space back.


Our service includes the use of roaster and a fully set up service area, at least one chef to prepare and serve food, disposable plates and cutlery, napkins and a selection of condiments. We work with local suppliers to be able to provide you  with Crockery and cutlery for your event.

Menu

We not only cook whole pig, lamb and chicken but also smaller joints including beef brisket, lamb or pork shoulders and even fish and vegetarian options. We can also prepare roasted hand carved meats served in dishes for you to enjoy Banquet style for your more formal sit down event.

Our prices are based on the traditional 12 hour slow cooked and pulled pork with our soft confit shallot and herb stuffing, cider braised apple sauce and crackling served in a soft floury bap.

£7.50 per guest for 30-60+

£6.50 per guest for 70-100

A very happy customer, we booked a hog and beef roast for a family party, with sides and potatoes, it was all delicious. So much so that when it was served, a hush developed over the party as everyone devoured the food.

Chef included wraps/rolls, sauces and disposable plates and cutlery and the tables to serve from. It made the whole party a lot more enjoyable for us the hosts, as everything was taken care of by the Great Big Pig company, leaving us to party with our guests.

We will definitely be using them again and would recommend them to anyone that wants a stress free time.

I booked Great Big Pig for my husband’s birthday during the bank holiday weekend. I had never booked a Hog Roast before and after seeing an advertisement on Facebook thought I would give it a try, I am so glad I did.

Daniel arrived on time to set up for the guests and the whole day from start to finish was fantastic. I had also ordered a few side dishes from Daniel, the Apricot Cous Cous and Potato Salad, and they were delicious. I was so impressed with the quality of the food and Daniel’s professionalism that I have booked him again for a birthday party in July.
